In the state of Pennsylvania, utility companies adjust the supply price to compare quarterly for both residential and commercial customers. This adjustment allows utilities to pass through market increases/decreases, attempt to recoup any loses that may have occurred due to weak hedges and account for loss of revenue from those customers switching to third-party supply.
Third-party supply contracts are typically much lower than utility rates, providing the end-user with supply options resulting in lower energy cost as well as longer terms to establish future budget certainty. If you are currently paying for your energy supply through your local utility, you should consider shopping your energy needs to ensure that you are getting the best possible rate.
Below are recently released utility rates across PA, all effective as of December 2020. We are seeing an increase in utility prices across PA and if you are currently on utility supply, now would be the time to look into switching a third-party energy supplier.
